I am Afraid to Call it Home.

Queer is directed by Luca Guadagnino and written by Justin Kuritzkes. Starring Daniel Craig, Drew Starkey, Jason Schwartzman & Lesley Manville.

All We Imagine as Light is written and directed by Payal Kapadia. Starring Kani Kusruti, Divya Prabha & Chhaya Kadam.

In Mumbai, Nurse Prabha’s routine is troubled when she receives an unexpected gift from her estranged husband.

As We Imagine as Light put me in a dream-like state. A tale of embracing an unknown future following characters longing for connection set against a bustling Mumbai cityscape.

Its slow and serene pace left me struggling to fully connect with the story even with three beautiful performances at its centre.

The film does pick up in its final act with a welcomed change of location and pace. It's an exquisitely made film but a touch too restrained for my liking.

Our verdict: 3 out of 5 stars.

All We Imagine as Light releases in UK cinemas 29th November 2024.
