Bring Her Back is directed by Danny & Michael Philippou and written by Danny Philippou & Bill Hinzman.
Starring Sally Hawkins, Billy Barratt, Sora Wong & Jonah Wren Phillips.
Following the death of their father, a brother and sister are introduced to their new sibling by their foster mother, only to learn that she has a terrifying secret.
Easily the most uncomfortable I've been in the cinema in a very long time, and I mean that as the highest compliment.
Danny & Michael Philippou have cooked up another demented slice of horror with Bring Her Back, this time leaning into the more gruesome side of possession through the lens of unspeakable grief.
Incredible performances, precise direction and visceral gore had me squirming in my seat and watching through my fingers, which is continued proof that the Philippou's can deliver the goods. Immersing you in their deranged world that latches on to you through the family connection, always at the core.
Special shout out to Jonah Wren Phillips - your performance was worth the years of therapy this will take to undo.
Our verdict: 4 out of 5 stars.
Bring Her Back arrives in UK Cinemas July 26th 2025
