Elsinore is directed by Simon Stone and written by Stephen Beresford.
Starring Andrew Scott, Olivia Colman, Billie Piper & Johnny Flynn.
The deeply emotional and inspirational true story of Ian Charleson, a gifted actor whose greatest challenge becomes his greatest triumph. Facing his own mortality with unflinching honesty, wit, and grace, Charleson delivers a courageous performance that becomes a source of healing and inspiration for those around him.
Andrew Scott sprints into awards season in this emotional biopic celebrating the talent, life and legacy of Ian Charleson.
There is a looming sense of inevitability when telling a story surrounding illness, but what took me off guard was Charleson's unique perspective of quality over quantity. To face that inevitability head-on, knowing that against all odds there is still a chance to write your name in the history books. There's something quite poetic about it, quite Shakespearean…
A distressing watch that is blanketed in dry British humour and a charismatic supporting cast that doesn’t hide away from discomfort in order to authentically tell this important story.
