You're More Than Your Gift. 4 / 5

Directed by Byron Howard & Jared Bush.

A young Colombian woman has to face the frustration of being the only member of her family without magical powers.

Encanto is full of vibrant energy with fast-paced animation and passionate music that lift which would otherwise be a conflicting family drama.

Soaked in culture, Encanto doesn't have the main antagonist or a shocking third act twist that Disney's animations have been known for, instead, it keeps the drama in the family which is only accentuated thanks to their magic. Lin-Manuel Miranda brings his signature stylings to the songs which are so layered that I missed half of the detail on my first listen.

Disney's 60th Animated Classic still brings the magic that they do best that is a celebration of Colombian culture and family.
