We Back.
Review written by Jack Aling

Scary Movie is directed by Michael Tiddes and written by Marlon Wayans and Shawn Wayans and Keenen Ivory Wayans and Craig Wayans and Rick Alvarez.
Twenty-six years after outrunning a suspiciously familiar masked killer, the Core Four are back in the killer's crosshairs and no horror movie IP is safe.
25 years since their last Scary Movie, the Wayans return to the franchise and no reboot, prequel or legacy sequel is safe.
There is an infectious sense of nostalgia in this latest instalment, even if most of the film is the now-older generation letting out their rage at millennials and Gen-Z through the disguise of movie parody.
The jokes quickly jump between genuinely funny moments and cringeworthy misses. The benefit of the pace being so non-stop is that if one doesn't work, there are five more in the barrel ready to go. Admittedly, it did get a lot of laughs from me and the cinema experience with a crowd really elevates it.
It falls into self-parody with as many 'remember this from the first film?' as 'recognise what film we're parodying?' which fuels the nostalgia but gets old quickly.
Not that you watch these films for the plot, but the lack of narrative leaves this feeling like a disconnected sketch show rather than a coherent feature film. Fortunately, there are enough laughs and shocking moments throughout to entertain and prove that there's still life in this franchise.
