One Day He's Gonna Follow You Home.
Review written by Jack Aling

Sinners is directed and written by Ryan Coogler.
Starring Michael B. Jordan, Hailee Steinfeld, Miles Caton & Jack O'Connell.
Trying to leave their troubled lives behind, twin brothers return to their hometown to start again, only to discover that an even greater evil is waiting to welcome them back.
Soaked in style, Sinners is a love letter to creative expression. To Blues music, Black history, filmmaking, genre - Ryan Coogler has created a personal and remarkable film that marks a significant chapter in his cinematic career.
A genre fluid piece that grows from a soulful drama to a rock and roll supernatural spectacular, the film feels alive from its ever-evolving nature to its shooting style on film. Combining the wide landscapes of Ultra Panavision 70mm and the expansive IMAX 15-perf 70mm makes for a wholly singular experience that comes together in sequences in the film's second act that had me levitating above my seat.
Michael B. Jordan delivers sensational dual lead performances as twins Smoke & Stack, but it's Miles Caton as Sammie who lights up the screen in an astonishing debut. The whole ensemble brings their own, giving themselves over to this incredible project.
There is so much to unpack from Sinners. A wonderfully original piece of cinema that deserves to be celebrated and experienced in its intended large-screen format. Through the music, performances and production, you can feel the care and attention that went into every frame of this landmark piece of modern folklore.
Our verdict: 4.5 out of 5 stars.
Sinners arrives in UK Cinemas April 18th 2025
