Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story is directed by Ian Bonhôte & Peter Ettedgui. Starring Christopher Reeve, Dana Reeve, Matthew Reeve, Will Reeve & Alexandra Reeve Givens.

Reeve's rise to becoming a film star follows with a near-fatal horse-riding accident in 1995 that left him paralyzed from the neck down. After the accident, he became an activist for spinal cord injury treatments and disability rights.

A touching tribute to the life and outstanding legacy of Christopher Reeve, Super/Man focuses more on his personal than professional life and the impact he had on the world.

Breaking away from the traditional autobiographical structure, the film skims over his Superman casting, instead jumping back and forth through comparing his attitude to life with his resiliency after his transformative accident.

With archive footage and interviews from friends and family, Super/Man is an emotional watch that doesn't shy away from tough moments or hide some of Reeve's negative traits. It's a story about family, survival, disability advocacy and a man who went above and beyond expectations, personifying what it means to be a superhero.

Our verdict: 4 out of 5 stars.

Super/Man: The Christopher Reeve Story releases in UK cinemas on 1st November 2024.
