I Remember How I Know You.

Queer is directed by Luca Guadagnino and written by Justin Kuritzkes. Starring Daniel Craig, Drew Starkey, Jason Schwartzman & Lesley Manville.

Treading Water is written and directed by Gino Evans. Starring Joe Gill & Becky Bowe.

Following his release from prison, Danny tries to take control of the mental health issues that have shaped his life. However, an encounter with a former flame evolves into tragic obsession.

A grounded and brooding British drama, Treading Water tackles addiction and mental health making for a tough watch but not necessarily for the right reasons.

Abrupt flashes of rage are a great way of showing the main character's inner thoughts, but when these violent fantasies are overused, they leave you questioning the rest of the characters' actions.

Paired with a lack of a real arc, this creates a story with no tension or stakes, which takes away from the obvious talent behind the camera.

Our verdict: 2 out of 5 stars.

Treading Water releases in UK cinemas 25th April 2025.
