It Isn't in Control Anymore.
Review written by Jack Aling
Bugonia is directed by Yorgos Lanthimos and written by Will Tracy.
Starring Emma Stone, Jesse Plemons, Aidan Delbis & Stavros Halkias.
Two conspiracy obsessed young men kidnap the high-powered CEO of a major company, convinced that she is an alien intent on destroying planet Earth.
One of those films that you can't believe got past the corporate execs. Bugonia is an absolute riot that keeps you guessing and attempting to solve its riddles until its final moments.
A wonderfully surreal look at conspiracies, the lasting impact of trauma and organisational greed.
Powerhouse performances and stunning cinematography expand the claustrophobic setting, adding to a perfect blend of masterfully dizzying filmmaking and a story that leaves you with an expansive pit in your stomach as you realise… We're Screwed.
