What's The Difference Between Love & Obsession?
Review written by Jack Aling

Lurker is directed and written by Alex Russell.
Starring Théodore Pellerin, Archie Madekwe, Havana Rose Liu & Sunny Suljic.
When a twenty-something retail clerk encounters a rising pop star, he takes the opportunity to edge his way into the in-crowd. But as the line between friend and fan blurs beyond recognition, access and proximity become a matter of life and death.
A modern look into the perils of fame, Lurker's antisocial antagonist manipulates his way to the top in this striking cautionary tale.
Théodore Pellerin's performance gets under your skin with a deranged thousand-yard stare that would make Hitchcock proud. I appreciated that the film doesn't hide its intentions, putting just as much emphasis on Archie Madekwe's social blindness in his hunt for fame as it does Pellerin's exploitation of his generosity.
Though it overstays its welcome by the third act, Lurker delivers enough second-hand embarrassment to leave a lasting impact.
Our verdict: 3.5 out of 5 stars.
Lurker arrives in UK Cinemas December 12th 2025
