Aurora is a Portuguese warehouse picker working in Scotland. Trapped between the confines of her workplace and the solitude of her flatshare, she seeks to resist the loneliness, alienation, and ensuing small talk that begin to threaten her sense of self.

Following Aurora, a Portuguese warehouse picker working in Scotland, On Falling shows the long term impact of a repetitive lifestyle through an aching dose of realism.

Joana Santos gives a touching performance, silently craving a job and life with more meaning and fulfilment she holds on tight to new experiences and connections.

A testing but effective character study that shines a light on the harsh reality and routine of crushing work that powers much of the modern world where the best motives consist of free cupcakes and discussing the latest crime drama.

Our verdict: 3 out of 5 stars.

On Falling releases in UK Cinemas 7th March 2025.
