Hark. My Boy's Coming Home.
Review written by Jack Aling

Rose of Nevada is directed by Mark Jenkin and written by Mark Jenkin.
The fishing vessel Rose of Nevada, lost at sea thirty years ago, has mysteriously returned. Nick takes a job aboard the boat to provide for his young family, alongside newly arrived Liam who is desperate to escape his past — but the crew has slipped back in time.
I've struggled with the abstract nature of Mark Jenkin's previous films, but Rose of Nevada uses his distinctive 16mm style to his advantage to elevate this disorientating time-travel mystery.
Jenkin's most accessible film to date with recognisable stars and a tangible narrative, Rose of Nevada is still very much an acquired taste - blending Cornish folk horror with a nostalgic coming of age drama.
A surreal experience but by far the most invested I've been in Jenkin's work. A ghost story that battles to keep its grip on reality.
