Do Bad Things Follow Us Through Life?
Review written by Jack Aling

Train Dreams is directed by Clint Bentley and written by Clint Bentley and Greg Kwedar.
An epic period drama spanning 80 years in the life of Robert Grainier, an itinerant laborer in the early 20th-century American Northwest. He builds a life with his family near Bonners Ferry, Idaho, but a wildfire destroys everything while he is away on a logging job.
A tranquil exploration of one man's life, Train Dreams captures the comforting highs and harrowing lows of life set against the rich forests of the Pacific Northwest.
Easily one of the most beautiful films I've seen in years, the combination of stunning landscapes paired with sharp and precise cinematography is a sight to behold.
It's easy to become immersed in Robert Grainier's story, played spectacularly by Joel Edgerton. His way of life, comforts and routine may be simple, but his intentions are pure.
My first real surprise of LFF - Really excited for this to get lost in Netflix's sands of time.
