Weak.
Review written by Jack Aling

Warfare is directed and written by Ray Mendoza & Alex Garland.
Starring D'Pharaoh Woon-A-Tai, Will Poulter, Cosmo Jarvis & Kit Connor.
A platoon of American Navy SEALs on a surveillance mission gone wrong in insurgent territory. A boots-on-the-ground story of modern warfare and brotherhood, told in real time and based on the memory of the people who lived it.
War films have become a genre in themselves. Every film weaves dozens of stereotypes and clichés to show the highs and lows of the experience.
Alex Garland collaborates with former Navy SEAL Ray Mendoza for a blistering recreation of a mission gone wrong during the Battle of Ramadi in Iraq.
Showing the inherent pointlessness of war and the devastation in its wake, Warfare is a brutally honest depiction of conflict and hostility with immersive sound design that will undoubtedly be some of the year's best.
Our verdict: 4 out of 5 stars.
Warfare arrives in UK Cinemas April 18th 2025
