Stop the Clock. 4.5 / 5
Directed by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
On the cusp of his 30th birthday, a promising young theater composer navigates love, friendship, and the pressures to create something great before time runs out.
Jonathan Larson's story is an aching reminder to never take the day for granted and this adaptation of his work tick, tick…BOOM! is a faithful and touching look at his life.
Andrew Garfield unsurprisingly is incredible in the lead, you can see he is really in his element despite having never professionally sung through his career. The want and need to achieve something that will outlive us is part of the human condition and Lin-Manuel Miranda has directed a fantastic tribute to Larson bringing his larger than life story to the screen.
30/90 will be stuck in my head until the end of time - There's a comforting feeling to the relatability that this story brings despite its nineties setting with brilliant rewatchability factor and infectious enthusiasm.
